About the Tennis Director  Mitchell Miyashiro:

Coach Mitchell Miyashiro brings a deep connection to George Fox University and a proven track record of leadership and success to his role as Head Men’s Tennis Coach. A 2016 George Fox graduate and former four-year player and team captain for the Bruins, Miyashiro returned to lead the program in the spring of 2024 as interim head coach and was officially named head coach in the summer of 2024.

In his first season at the helm, Coach Miyashiro guided the Bruins to a flawless 7-0 conference record, securing the team’s fifth consecutive Northwest Conference (NWC) title and extending their unbeaten conference streak to 36 matches. The team earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament and saw standout individual performances, including Eli Mizerski being named NWC Player of the Year, and multiple players receiving All-NWC honors.

Before his collegiate coaching role, Mitchell served as Head Coach at Tualatin High School for six years and has been an integral part of tennis development in the Wilsonville and Hawaii communities. He has coached junior and adult players through camps, private instruction, tournaments, and high school programs, building a reputation as a thoughtful, strategic, and player-focused coach.

In addition to his collegiate coaching duties, Coach Miyashiro is USPTA Certified and has served as the Head Teaching Professional and Tennis Director at the George Fox Tennis Center since June 2023. There, he oversees junior and adult programs, offering public lessons and clinics to players of all ages and skill levels.

With a deep love for the game and a commitment to excellence, Mitchell Miyashiro continues to elevate the standard of tennis at George Fox and in the surrounding community.

About the Head Pro Nanase Ebisu:

A former top-30 nationally ranked junior in Japan, Nanse’s competitive tennis journey took him to the collegiate level in the United States, where he competed at Hawaii Pacific University and McKendree University (NCAA Division II), and later at George Fox University (NCAA Division III). During his time at McKendree and George Fox, Nanse played a key role in helping both teams capture conference titles, contributing as a standout team player and leader.

With over six years of coaching experience, Nanse has worked with players of all ages and skill levels in Georgia and Oregon, developing a well-rounded and effective coaching style.
